The World Affairs Council of Palm Beach is a membership-based organization that creates forums for discussion of critical world issues. Our mission is to promote understanding of the world — the people, the politics, the economies and the cultures — and to enhance the ability of our citizens to participate in the global community and to better understand world events through people-to-people diplomacy, distinguished speakers, and educational outreach programs.
- The Council offers in-depth information and public programs on current events, international issues, and United States foreign policy.
- The Council provides access to senior foreign government officials as well as United States policy makers, distinguished authorities, authors and noted commentators.
- Topics range from national security issues, government, economics, politics, bilateral relations, and regional development.
Organization Profile
The Council, is a non-profit 501(c)(3), non-partisan educational organization working to engage and educate Americans and all people in international affairs and foreign policy.
The Council’s Distinguished Speaker Series and WAC Dialogue offers its members and their guests bi-monthly programs featuring prominent speakers from both the U.S. and abroad to participate in programs ranging from public talks to small group discussions and media interviews.
The Council’s Educational Outreach Program to local universities and high schools will involve faculty and students in speaker programs and discussion groups.
Individual and family memberships, local foundations, businesses, institutions and corporations, motivated by the objectives of the organization, provide the financial resources for programming and other expenses.
